In a typical year, approximately 20-24 homeless families with children complete Cornerstone's Transitional Housing and Education Program, a 6 month program which provides housing and educational opportunities targeted at breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Many families move from the Transitional Housing and Education Program (THEP) to our long term rental housing, either through Cornerstone's Affordable Housing Program or in one of the units dedicated to long term housing for homeless families. At least four graduates of the program now own homes purchased through Cornerstone.

Cornerstone's Affordable Housing Program has an inventory of over 100 units of rental housing. All of these houses and apartments are rent-restricted, and available only to low income households earning less than 60% of Area Median Income (AMI). Some units are further restricted to 50% of AMI, and a new apartment project on SW Clay Street is restricted to persons with disabilities, and income below 30% of AMI.  A recent survey indicated that approximately 30% of Cornerstone's long-term tenants had been homeless, and an equal number have someone in the household with a significant disability.
