New Duplexes:
Since 2006, we have completed ten new duplexes in Central Topeka, including one we helped Breakthrough House to construct on SW Western. The building designs are a variation
on the "bungalow" style common to some of Topeka's
older neighborhoods. The one-and-two-bedroom apartments provide long-term
housing to persons with disabilities and limited income. The buildings include design features for handicapped accessibility, and are Energy Star certified. All were developed with assistance from Kansas Housing Resources Corporation or the City of Topeka's Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development.
Our current project is a 20 unit (10 duplex) new construction project using the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program and HOME funds from the City and State. The two-and-three bedroom units include accessibility features, attached garages, tornado safe-rooms, and Energy Star certification. Located at SW 13th and Long Streets, rents will range from $295 to $425per month.
